During the last trimester of pregnancy, many women experience what is known as the nesting instinct. Driven by the desire to create the perfect cozy nest for the little human on the way, we scrub and reorganize the entire house... but most importantly, we review once again the long list of essentials to have for baby's arrival.

This is when you make your entrance by organizing THE baby shower to remember. This big party is to help mom and dad get ready for the arrival of baby. It is also an opportunity to celebrate this long awaited event by creating precious memories.

Check out our ideas for planning a baby shower that parents-to-be will remember for the rest of their lives!

The organization of a baby shower

When it comes to life events, few things compare to the arrival of a child. You prepare for several months, and the baby shower is a milestone. So it has to be great.

This year, the trend is towards a boho and natural style. We will opt for neutral and soft tones such as cream, soft green and old pink. You can add a touch of sparkle with golden accents. Natural elements such as eucalyptus branches or succulent plants as centerpieces are also popular!

There are many things to consider; menu, invitations, decorations, location... You will find everything you need to organize your event on the 4-celebrations platform.

Create memories with these 6 baby shower activities

Beyond the decor and formalities, you'll also want to plan some fun activities to make your party memorable. It's the perfect opportunity to share laughs and create memories with the parents-to-be.

Below is a list of 6 baby shower activities that are just as fun as they are easy to organize.

1. The photo booth

There is a reason why photo booths are a classic; they are enjoyed by both the host and the guests. They are fun and relatively simple to prepare. All you have to do is create a decor and accessories that match the theme of the party and you're done!

It's even better if you have access to a polaroid camera: each person can sign the photo and write a note. Otherwise, your smartphone will do just fine!

2. Not allowed to say the word "baby

Each participant has 3 pins. When someone says the word "baby" and it is heard, they must give a pin to the person who heard it. In the end, the person with the most pins wins a prize.

If you're feeling creative, you can also make up consequences and write them on pieces of paper. Then, each participant will have a choice: either they give a pin or they pick a consequence and keep their pin.

3. The hunt for pacifiers

We reinvent the classic Easter egg hunt and adapt it to the baby shower. The name of the game is quite explicit: you hide pacifiers everywhere, and the person who finds the most wins! You can also use little socks or mittens that will be useful to baby once the game is over.

As for the prizes, take the opportunity to encourage a local business! A little treat from the local bakery, or a cocktail recipe kit from Crafty Cocktails will add a little spice to the competition!

4. What kind of chocolate?

For this game, you will need at least 5 different kinds of chocolate, as well as 5 layers. After numbering the layers, all you have to do is crush a piece of chocolate in each layer. Then, have your guests guess what kind of chocolate is inside.

Attention! You can only play with your nose; you are not allowed to taste. You'll see, it's not as easy as it looks!

5. Feeding the baby

This next game is for guests who don't mind getting dirty! You'll need baby food jars and spoons. You can also make aprons for the participants by cutting three holes in large garbage bags.

The goal of the game is to get your partner to eat the baby jar as quickly as possible. But there's a catch, both players must be blindfolded. Make sure you have boxes of tissues available, because everyone will be crying with laughter!

6. Diapers and words of encouragement

Between feedings and diaper changes, everyone knows that baby's nights are often too short (and filled with waking up). So new parents will need two things: lots of coffee and support.

So we'll set up a booth with markers and diapers (size 1 or newborn) on which each guest will write a word of encouragement for nighttime diaper changes. This step is inevitable, so we might as well make it a little more fun by putting a smile on the parents' faces with sweet words!

Laughter is the best medicine, so get your best jokes ready!

An occasion to celebrate in style!

Soon, mom and dad will probably no longer be the center of attention. A baby shower is therefore an opportunity to make the most of their last moments in the spotlight. You can even call on the services of SW Limousines to make the parents-to-be feel especially pampered!

Remember that beyond the gifts, the parents-to-be will remember the good times with family and friends. Remind them how well they are surrounded and how much you love them!
